USAT Liberty Shipwreck
The USAT Liberty Shipwreck in Tulamben, Bali, is one of the most famous and easily accessible dive sites in the world.
Originally a U.S. Army cargo ship torpedoed during World War II, the wreck now rests just off the shore, slowly transformed into a vibrant underwater reef. Covered in coral and home to hundreds of marine species, it offers a unique diving experience for beginners and experienced divers alike.

Coral Garden
A beautiful dive site protected from strong currents. It’s recommended for more experienced divers as it reaches beyond 18 meters in depth. Expect healthy coral formations and a chance to spot rare macro life.
- Location: Northeast Bali, near the Liberty Wreck
- Depth: 3–20 meters
- Highlights: Hard and soft corals, garden eels, clownfish in anemones, and occasional reef sharks.
- Diver level: All levels
Alamanda
A beautiful dive site protected from strong currents. It’s recommended for more experienced divers as it reaches beyond 18 meters in depth. Expect healthy coral formations and a chance to spot rare macro life.
- Location: Northeast Bali, close to Tulamben
- Depth: 18–30 meters
- Highlights: Healthy corals, reef fish, nudibranchs, and pygmy seahorses
- Diver level: Intermediate to advanced
Drop off
An underwater wall that begins close to the shore and drops straight down into deep water. The wall is full of soft corals, sponges, and sea fans, and many small creatures hide in the cracks. Bigger fish such as reef sharks are often seen here, and sometimes even hammerheads.
- Location: Northeast Bali, at the edge of Tulamben Bay
- Depth: 15–60+ meters
- Highlights: Soft corals, sea fans, reef sharks, nudibranchs, and rare hammerheads
- Diver level: Advanced to technical
Batu Kelebit
This site is known for its three steep ridges covered in colorful coral formations. Hard corals, fire corals, sea fans, and big barrel sponges fill the slopes, creating a dramatic underwater view. It is also a good place to see bigger fish and sometimes pelagic species passing by.
- Location: 15-minute ride on a traditional jukung boat from Tulamben
- Depth: 12–40 meters
- Highlights: Coral ridges, barrel sponges, sea fans, and pelagic fish
- Diver level: Intermediate to advanced
Monkey reef
A lively reef that stretches from shallow waters into deeper areas, making it a versatile site for many types of divers. The reef is rich with coral formations and offers encounters with both large and small marine life.
- Location: About 3.5 kilometers from central Tulamben
- Depth: 5–40 meters
- Highlights: Coral formations, barracudas, bumphead parrotfish, reef sharks, and macro creatures
