Best Diving Sites in Amed

Amed offers a mix of easy slopes, colorful coral walls, and unique artificial reefs. These sites are perfect for all levels, from relaxed drift dives to macro photography. Here are some of the top dive spots you shouldn’t miss while diving in Amed.

Bunutan Beach

This dive site is located just a 10-minute boat ride from the main Amed Beach. The dive starts with a gentle drift along a sandy slope dotted with large coral bommies. Divers are welcomed by an eel garden followed by giant sponges, blue-spotted rays, pink gorgonians, barracudas, moray eels, lionfish, and colorful nudibranchs. At depths between 25 and 30 meters, you’ll find a spectacular gathering of reef fish. Resident reef sharks are often seen here. Drift dives for experienced divers are also possible further east toward Selang and Bunutan.

Amed Wall

Located just outside of Jumeluk Bay, the Amed Wall is only a 5-minute boat ride from Amed Beach. This beautiful vertical wall descends to around 40 meters and is covered in colorful corals and gorgonians. It’s home to pygmy seahorses and other unique macro species. With visibility reaching up to 30 meters, divers often spot white tip reef sharks, Napoleon wrasse, schools of batfish, and trevallies along the wall. The variety of corals makes this site a visual highlight of Amed.

Pyramid

Just 5 minutes from Amed Beach, Pyramid is a dive site known for its sandy slope and artificial reef structures shaped like pyramids. These man-made reefs are made from tires and crates, providing a habitat for an amazing variety of macro marine life. You may even spot a sandy tortoise if you’re lucky. The site shows different stages of coral recovery, offering a mix of natural and artificial reef life that makes the dive both unique and educational.
