
Padang Bai Dive Sites
Padang Bai is a charming fishing village on Bali’s east coast and a well-known spot for both diving and snorkeling. With easy access, diverse marine life, and calm conditions, it’s a great location for both beginners and experienced divers. From coral gardens and artificial reefs to night dives and shark sightings, Padang Bai has something for everyone.
Blue Lagoon
Also known as Baong Penyu or “turtle’s neck,” Blue Lagoon is one of the most popular dive sites in Padang Bai. It’s just a 5-minute ride by traditional jukung boat. The white sandy slope gradually drops to around 22 meters and features healthy coral growth, especially large staghorn formations. Marine life is rich, with frequent sightings of reef sharks, napoleon wrasse, stonefish, ribbon eels, squid, octopus, and even stargazers. Night dives here are especially rewarding due to the variety of nocturnal creatures.

Channel Point
Just 2 minutes from Padang Bai Beach by land, Channel Point is a deeper site best suited for experienced divers. It features a plateau at 18 meters with small caves that serve as resting spots for white tip reef sharks. Strong currents are common, especially within the channel, which adds to the challenge and thrill.

Bias Tugel
Located near the scenic Bias Tugel Beach, this dive site starts at a shallow 10 meters and is ideal for macro lovers. Though it can reach depths of 30 to 40 meters, currents here can be unpredictable. Look closely for red-toothed triggerfish, squirrelfish, and small critters hidden among the reef.

Tanjung Jepun
Tanjung Jepun is a favorite for underwater photographers and night divers. It features an artificial reef and a small wreck at around 17 meters. The site is rich in macro life including frogfish, rare nudibranchs, and other strange creatures. With some luck, you might even spot a coral cat shark.
