Open Water Diver Course for Beginners in Bali

2022 has been the year where people are starting to go traveling once again. Some countries have lifted their travel ban and reduced time to quarantine. So is Indonesia, news have stated that in April people can enter Bali without any quarantine. Which is very great news for us and to you as well. We are sure some of you missed diving in Bali deeply. Moreover, now is the great time to take an Open Water Diver Course for Beginners in Bali. It is time for you to finally try taking a scuba diving license.

Bali Fun Diving can provide you with courses for beginners. To get your first scuba diving license you will need to finish an Open Water Scuba Diving Course. Bali Fun Diving gives you 2 options on the program’s duration. You can finish it in just 2 days, or in 3 days. So it might not be as long as you’d expect.

Since there are 2 types of Open Water Diver Course in Bali, we will explain to you one by one. Both of the programs will start with you learning from an app (PADI or SSI).  There will be a thorough explanation on the basics of scuba diving and how it is possible for humans to breathe underwater. At the end of your learning session will be an exam, please finish it before you schedule with Bali Fun Diving.

Open Water Diver Course Programs

2 Days Program

Let’s start with the 2 days program. On the first day you will learn about the practical skills in scuba diving. You learned some of it before in the application, but this time you will try it out. Our instructor will guide you through the skills one by one. After approximately half a day of pool session, continue your course at Sanur for your first open water dive session.

On the second day of your 2 days program, we will take you to Tulamben. Tulamben is a famous dive site known for its sunken shipwreck, the USAT Liberty. USAT Liberty shipwreck sunk back in 1963 on the shore of Tulamben. After a few decades and earthquakes, the ship is now resting underwater just 25 meters from shore. Shore entry is enough to enjoy Tulamben. You will do 3 diving sessions in Tulamben and that will be your final test for the Open Water Diver Course in Bali.

3 Days Program

There will be a slight variation in the 3 days program. On the first day of your Open Water Diver Course, you will learn all the skills needed for scuba diving. The difference is that you can have the whole day to learn in the pool / confined water condition.

Day two will mark your first open water session. We’ll take you to Tulamben for 2 open water dive sessions in the USAT Liberty shipwreck. One less than the 2 days program, but worry not because you will go somewhere else the next day.

On day three you will visit Padang Bai. Beautiful sand beaches with beautiful dive sites. 2 final diving sessions in Padang Bai. Rather than entering the water from the shore, on this day you will dive from a traditional boat called the Jukung. Our scuba diving instructor will teach and demonstrate to you how to do diving entries from a boat. Surely it is a different experience.
