What is Artificial reef?
Artificial reef is the basic structure created by humans for the purpose of forming a new marine ecosystem.
Artificial reef in Bali has been done since several decades ago which has been done in some point in ocean either by government institution, foundation or Non Governmental Organization (NGO)
Artificial reefs can be made from basic materials such as: tires, concrete, PvC and even from sinking vessels, used cars and aircraft.
One of the most successful artificial reefs in Bali is in dive sites in the east of the island, Amed. The stem made of concrete is stacked resembling a small pyramid in several groups.
This artificial pyramid is spread over 10 meters to 25 meters at a dive site called Pyramid Point.
This Dive site can be reached by using a small boat called “Jukung” approximately 5 minutes from the beach.
Here you will be indulge with colorful corals that grow enveloping small artificial pyramid inhabited by various types of reef fish.
Blue spotted Stingray, Sea Turtles, Octopuses, and many interesting creatures will enrich your dive experience here.
